I am a journalist, editor, writer and the author of the novel Black Dogs: The Possibly True Story of Classic Rock’s Greatest Robbery (Random House/Three Rivers) and the forthcoming novel Five Four Three Two One. I also contributed to Homeward Bound: The Life & Times of Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry. My writing has appeared in Spin, Wired, Village Voice, Chicago Tribune and other publications. I was born in Kankakee, Illinois which was once voted, “The Worst City in North America” by The Places Rated Almanac. I now live in Los Angeles.
